I know I keep on raving about how good Gimp is but really its fantastic. Its basically the same as Paintshop but it is free and I think easier as well.

You can get it from here: www.gimp.org

Or if you want the portable version you can keep the program on your USB Flash Drive and take it with you wherever you go (handy if you use your works Pc or School Pc a lot). Download Here

I am a complete novice when it comes to all this technical stuff, I hated Paintshop as it was way too difficult for me but with Gimp its easy (with a little help from Youtube).

So just for James and anyone else that wants to learn I will pass on my Gimpy knowledge Razz

MAKING ANIMATED GRAPHICS

First of all you need to create your background layer
Spoiler:

Next you will need your 1st layer. This can be anything you want. If you are copy and pasting from another source then you may need to resize the layer to fit your background. You do this by pressing the scale button and clicking on the corner of your layer and dragging in so it fits into your background. When you are happy press the scale button and the layer will now be the correct size.
Spoiler:

You can move your layer to where you want it by pressing the "move" button then toggle the "move the active layer" then click and drag your layer to where you want it.
Spoiler:

Next click Layer and add new and this will make your floating layer into your first layer. Then you can adjust your layer by selecting it. To make it easier you can even toggle on or off the eye next to the button so you dont get distracted by your background. If you have white edges to your new layer simply erase around them.
Spoiler:

When you are happy with your first layer you can either create a new layer using the steps above or you can add writing or anything you want. In this example we will use writing for our next layer. Choose the text button and position your writing. You can change font, colour and size.
Spoiler:

For the next layer we will do more writing. Do the same as the last step but this time position your text directly on top of the last layer. You can do this as many times as you like creating more and more layers.
Spoiler:

When you are happy with your layers you can then animate the image.
Click Filters, then Animation, then Blend. There are probably other ways to do this but this is what I use. When the box comes up put "Intermediate Frames" on 15 and "Max. blur Radius" on 3. then press ok
Spoiler:

It will take a little while but when it has finished it will create a new box with your image in. To preview go to "Filters" then "Animation" then "Playback" then hit the play button. If you are happy then go to "File" then "Save as" then select file type and save it as a gif. Then a new box will come up. Save as Animation then press Export. Finished Smile
Spoiler:

Ok its not a work of art but you got the basics Razz

I know it's not that great but it's my first one i made using GIMP . . .

Slay, if you want i can email you the original one i had . . it's practically the same thing only the phrase
"The Best Clan On Swat 4" is replaced with a different one, just so that you can choose whichever one look better

HOW TO ADD FONTS TO GIMP or any other program including Microsoft Word

First find a place to download free fonts. I like 1001 fonts CLICK HERE

Find a font you like then click DOWNLOAD WIN FONT

Save to your desktop so you know where it is

Once downloaded open the file using winrar

Then go to MY COMPUTER > LOCAL DISK C > WINDOWS > FONTS

Place all the files you just downloaded into the FONTS folder

Voila done. Open up GIMP and your new font should be ready to use.
